Lash Lift and Tint FAQs
A lash lift-and-tint treatment involves two separate processes, both designed to give you beautiful, fluttery eyelashes for weeks. A lash lift mimics the effect of an eyelash curler. It makes your lashes bend upwards, leaving them looking longer, and your eyes more open and bright. The lash tint that follows will enhance the natural colour of your eyelashes and sees semi-permanent dye applied directly to your lashes to create a darker, fuller appearance.
A lash lift and tint lasts for 6-8 weeks.
At least 48 hours before you have your lash lift and tint, your technician should conduct a patch test on your skin to see if you’re allergic to any of the ingredients being used. If all goes well, your appointment can go ahead, and will begin with the technician cleansing your eyelids and lashes. Then, using a mini curling tool, your technician will shape your natural lashes before beginning the tinting process. They’ll prepare the dye solution, apply it to your lashes and leave it for a few minutes to achieve the desired colour. They’ll then wipe away any remaining solution, leaving you with volumised, lashes.
Yes. Although the processes are considered relatively safe, you should always be sure to book your treatment with an experienced, certified eyelash technician (inexperienced therapists may over-process and damage your lashes). You should also always have a pre-appointment patch test to ensure you’re not allergic to any of the chemicals in the solutions being used. Allergic reactions could include a burning sensation, irritation or hair loss.
