We welcome and depend on your donations to keep our shelter open and our programs operational. You can donate to support a specific program, become a member of our organization, become a Guardian Angel, or you can memorialize or honor a person or an animal, or simply as a show of support.

You can:

BECOME A MEMBER

$30 Annual Individual Bronze Membership: You will receive a membership card, newsletters, an invitation to the Annual Membership Lunch and advance notification of all special events.

$50 Annual Family Silver Membership: You will receive a membership card, newsletters, an invitation to the Annual Membership Lunch and advance notification of all special events.

$75 Annual Special Gold Membership: In addition to the above benefits, Special Gold members will receive a free ticket to the Annual Membership Luncheon.

$150 Annual Business Platinum Membership: You will receive a membership card, newsletters, an invitation to the Annual Membership Lunch, advance notification of all special events, a certificate appropriate for display, a listing on the NCHS website, and advance opportunities to sponsor events.

NCHS is a 501 (c)3 nonprofit corporation. Our funds come from memberships, fundraising events, donations, bequests and fees for services. All contributions are fully tax deductible.

LIFE TIME MEMBERSHIP

The North County Humane Society is celebrating 32 years of service to the public and the animals of San Luis Obispo county.

To help celebrate their many years of service to our community, the Shelter is offering a “ONCE IN A LIFETIME” membership special. In return for a one-time donation of $500.00, individuals will receive a lifetime membership, regular communication about the Shelter’s programs, services and upcoming events through an e-newsletter, discounts on activities and products, and a lifetime membership card and certificate.

Members provide the bedrock of financial support that is needed to run sheler programs and services. Members are much needed spokespeople and advocates for the animals in the care of NCHS. Additionally, members provide leadership and direction to the Board of Directors and staff which helps everyone do the very best they can for the animals and people the shelter serves.

To sign up for your Once in a Lifetime membership, call 466-5403 or download our membership application form, make a note that you are enrolling as a life time member, and mail it to: NCHS, 2300 Ramona Rd., Atascadero, CA 93453. Arrangements may be made for payments of $50.00 month for 10 months by calling the shelter at the above number.

CATS NEED CASH!

Dear Staples:

Hi! I'm Max! I use only the finest quality paper products from Staples to perform my office duties at the North County Humane Society. When I chair Board meetings, I insist that my colleagues use only Staples pens, stationary, and post-it notes. Without good quality products, this place would go to the dogs!

But, unlike the human executives in the car and banking industries, we fabulous felines in the nonprofit world of animal shelter fame have not received any federal stimulus money. I think it would be pawsitively fabulous if you help supply the Shelter with its office needs: paper, staples, toner, kibbles, shrimp.... (oops, got side tracked there!)

I'll tell you what - I'll even throw in an added incentive – if you'll send my friends and me a gift certificate valued at $200.00 minimum, we'll name the next cat here at the Shelter "Staples!" It'd be a doggone shame to pass up an honor like that!

Litter Certificates From Atascadero Hay and Feed Help the Shelter
The public now has an easy, affordable way to help the North County Humane Society with litter costs. With approximately 175 cats under our care, the NCHS goes through approximately 2,000 pounds of litter per month!

Atascadero Hay and Feed has generously begun a new program, whereby consumers can purchase “litter certificates” at the store, the store will deduct the amount of these donations from the NCHS monthly bill, and the store delivers the litter to the Shelter. Therefore, there is no work involved on the part of the public, just a nominal cost for the “litter certificate.”

As the litter certificates only cost $6.49 for a 35 pound bag of litter, this is a great deal and helps out the Shelter in a big way!
